Terms of Service
Effective: July 31, 2026·Last updated: July 31, 2026
Welcome to CNC Leagues. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the CNC Leagues website at cncleagues.com, our Discord server, the “Commissioner” bot, and all related services, tools, and competitions we operate (collectively, the “Services”).
By creating an account, joining our Discord server, registering for a league or season, completing verification, or otherwise using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. Definitions
- “CNC Leagues,” “we,” “us,” or “our” refers to the operators of CNC Leagues, based in Ohio, United States.
- “You,” “your,” or “Member” refers to any person who accesses or uses the Services.
- “Services” means the cncleagues.com website, the CNC Leagues Discord server, the Commissioner bot, league competitions, and all associated features.
- “Content” means any data, text, images, screenshots, recordings, gamertags, statistics, or other material submitted to or generated through the Services.
- “EA Account” means your Electronic Arts account used to play NHL Pro Clubs.
- “Linked Accounts” means the gaming, platform, and identity accounts (e.g., EA, Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, Discord, Google/YouTube) you connect or disclose to us for verification.
2. Eligibility and Age Requirements
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Services. By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.
If you are between 16 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction (usually 18), you may only use the Services with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf.
Because the Services collect personal information (see Section 6), we do not knowingly permit anyone under 16 to register. If we learn that a Member is under 16, we will remove their account.
3. Account Registration and Mandatory Verification
To keep the league legitimate — so that the person who signs up is the person who actually plays — participation requires you to register accurate information and complete our verification steps. Completing these steps and permitting the associated data collection is a condition of joining and remaining in the league. If you do not comply, we may deny or revoke your access.
Verification includes the following:
- Registration details. You must provide accurate account information, including your date of birth (used to confirm you meet the minimum age), gamertag, platform, and a valid phone number. You agree to keep this information current.
- Console verification. After Hockey setup, we send you a link from the league’s own Xbox and/or PlayStation accounts, which you must open from your game console. It records browser and connection evidence for comparison with your account’s initial console baseline. It does not establish a hardware identity or prove who played a game.
- YouTube verification. You must have a YouTube account, verify it with us using Google sign-in (OAuth), and sync it with your console. After each game, you must submit proof of the match’s box score as described in our rules and Privacy Policy.
- Phone verification. A valid, non-virtual mobile phone number is required. We verify it by SMS and check its type; virtual/VoIP numbers are not accepted, and each phone number may be used for only one account. If you cannot or will not verify a valid phone number, you cannot join.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, and for keeping your credentials secure. You may not share your account, credentials, or console access with anyone else.
4. Competitive Integrity and Anti-Cheat Policy
CNC Leagues exists to be a fair, legitimate league with honest stats and records. To protect that, the following are strictly prohibited:
- operating more than one CNC Leagues account, or helping anyone else do so;
- sharing logins or credentials, or allowing another person to play on your account or slot;
- creating fake, duplicate, or “smurf” accounts, including to evade a ban or to re-enter after quitting under a different identity;
- using a VPN, proxy, or other tool to mask your identity or location; VPN/proxy connections are detected and blocked from the Website; and
- falsifying box-score submissions, timestamps, or any other verification data.
How we enforce this. To detect the above, we collect and analyze technical data — including IP addresses captured at login and during console verification, device/user-agent information, login timestamps, and box-score submissions — as described in our Privacy Policy. We use this data as evidence of multi-account activity and cheating. A league administrator reviews the evidence and determines, in our sole discretion, whether a violation has occurred; our determination is final. We may act on that determination to warn, suspend, void results, or ban.
Because preventing ban and quit evasion is part of keeping the league fair, we may retain verification and anti-cheat data indefinitely, including after you leave the league.
5. Code of Conduct
You agree to treat other Members, staff, and opponents with respect. The following are prohibited and may result in discipline up to a permanent ban:
- harassment, hate speech, threats, discrimination, or targeted abuse;
- cheating, exploiting bugs, match-fixing, or manipulating results;
- impersonating staff or other Members;
- sharing others’ private information without consent;
- disruptive conduct that harms the league or its community; and
- any illegal activity conducted through the Services.
6. Data Collection and Privacy
Your use of the Services involves the collection of personal information, including identity and technical data used for verification and anti-cheat purposes. How we collect, use, share, and retain this information — and your rights over it — is described in full in our Privacy Policy. By using the Services, you acknowledge and agree to the practices described there.
By providing a phone number, you consent to receive one-time verification codes by SMS. These are transactional, account-security messages; message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Full details of our text-message programs are in Section 6A below.
6A. Text Messaging (SMS)
Program description. CNC Leagues operates two text-message programs. The first is a required verification program that sends one-time codes to confirm your mobile number when you sign in or verify your account. The second is an optional league-updates program that sends occasional news and giveaway messages; it is never a condition of joining the league or of any purchase.
Message frequency. Verification: one message per login or verification request. Optional league updates: message frequency may vary.
Cost. Message and data rates may apply. CNC Leagues does not charge for text messages, but your mobile carrier's standard rates apply.
Opting out and help. Reply STOP to any message to cancel that program. Reply HELP for help, or contact us at contact@cncleagues.com. If you opt out of verification texts, you may be unable to sign in, since the code is how we confirm your account.
Carrier non-liability. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Eligibility. You must be at least 16 (see Section 2) and the account holder or authorized user of the mobile number you provide. We accept mobile numbers only; landline, VoIP, and virtual numbers are rejected.
No sale or sharing. No mobile information will be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. See our Privacy Policy and SMS Terms & Opt-In page.
7. League Participation Rules
League play is subject to additional rules — including scheduling, roster, match, submission-timing, and conduct rules — published on the Website or Discord. Those rules form part of these Terms, and we may update them as needed to run fair competition. You are responsible for staying current with them. Any promotions, giveaways, or contests we run may be subject to their own separate rules and eligibility requirements.
8. Enforcement and Disciplinary Actions
We may take any action we consider appropriate to enforce these Terms and league rules, including issuing warnings, adjusting or voiding results, suspending or banning accounts, and removing Content. We may act immediately and without prior notice where we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect the integrity of the league or its Members. Decisions may be appealed only by filing a formal appeal through the Website at cncleagues.com. Because a banned Member loses access to our Discord server, appeals cannot be submitted through Discord. We review appeals in good faith, but enforcement decisions are ultimately at our sole discretion and are final.
9. Intellectual Property
The Services, including the CNC Leagues name, branding, website, bot, and original content, are owned by CNC Leagues and protected by applicable law. You may not copy, reproduce, or reuse them without our permission. You retain ownership of Content you submit, but you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, display, and process that Content as needed to operate the Services and administer the league.
NHL, EA SPORTS, Electronic Arts, Xbox, PlayStation, Discord, Google, and YouTube are trademarks of their respective owners. CNC Leagues is an independent community league and is not endorsed by, sponsored by, or affiliated with any of them.
10. Third-Party Services
The Services rely on third-party platforms, including Electronic Arts (NHL Pro Clubs), Discord, Google/YouTube, our hosting provider, and a phone-verification provider. Your use of those platforms is governed by their own terms and policies, which we do not control. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of third-party services.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components. Participation in the league is voluntary and offered as a recreational activity.
12. Limitation of Liability
The Services are provided free of charge. To the maximum extent permitted by law, CNC Leagues and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from or related to your use of the Services. Because you pay nothing to use the Services, to the fullest extent permitted by law our total liability to you for any claim will not exceed the amount you have actually paid us — which, for free participation, is zero.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CNC Leagues and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Services, your Content, or your violation of these Terms or the rights of any third party.
14. Termination
You may stop using the Services and request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us, subject to the data-retention practices described in our Privacy Policy (including retention necessary to prevent ban or quit evasion). We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, for violations of these Terms or league rules, or where we reasonably believe termination is necessary to protect the Services or other Members. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.
15. Modifications to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date and, for material changes, provide notice through the Website or Discord server. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio and the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree that any dispute arising under these Terms will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Lorain County, Ohio, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
17. Contact Information
For questions about these Terms, verification, data requests, or disputes, contact us at:
